LiveSnap.tv Privacy Policy

Version 1.0, effective from 1 October 2026. Terms of Service · Home page

1. Data controller

The controller of personal data is Dartford Trading Ltd, Halcyon Close 11, CM8 1GW Witham, United Kingdom, company number 09592691. Contact for personal-data matters: admin@livesnap.tv, helpline +44 1322 517 105.

2. The most important thing: we do not record broadcasts

Picture and sound from a broadcast pass through relay servers to viewers and are not saved. We do not build an archive of broadcasts and have no way of replaying a finished broadcast.

There is one exception for moderation: individual video frames may be sent for automated analysis of forbidden content, and a frame for which the analysis detected such content is kept as evidence for the period given in the table below.

3. What data we process

DataPurposeLegal basisRetention
Guest identifier in the livesnap_guest cookie Setting the broadcast queue, linking reports and blocks to a device Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest: operation of the queue and enforcement of the Terms of Service 90 days from the last visit
Email address, display name, password hash (accounts) Running the account Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, performance of a contract Until the account is deleted
Logged-in session cookie livesnap_session Keeping the user logged in Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR 30 days
IP address, browser header (User-Agent), referring address, requested address Traffic statistics, detecting bots and abuse, service security Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest 30 days, then deleted automatically
Record of Terms acceptance: user identifier, Terms version, date, IP address, and browser at the moment of acceptance Demonstrating that the user accepted the Terms and declared they are of legal age Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest: defence against claims 3 years from acceptance
Profile picture uploaded by the user (re-saved as a 256×256 JPEG, with metadata stripped) Display on the account, in the ranking, and in the chat Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR Until the picture or the account is deleted
One-time links sent by email (token hash, new email address, time) Setting a new password and confirming an email-address change Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR Link valid 1 hour (password) or 24 hours (email address); the record is deleted after 7 days
Chat messages: content, author's display name, time, broadcast number Running the chat with viewers, handling reports, and protection against abuse Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, performance of a contract (account feature) 90 days; a message deleted by its author disappears from the chat immediately and is removed from the database within 24 hours at the latest
Broadcast data: number, title given by the broadcaster, time, broadcaster type, reason for ending Operation of the stage, accounting for airtime, handling reports Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR 12 months
Technical measurements recorded every minute: stage state, broadcast number, number of viewers and people in the queue, and the broadcaster's connection quality (bitrate, frame count, resolution, latency, packet loss) Detecting failures and assessing broadcast quality and transmission costs Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR 30 days
Technical errors: error message content, location in the service's code, the page on which it occurred, browser header (User-Agent), and number of occurrences; without an IP address and without a person identifier - email addresses in messages are masked Detecting and fixing service errors Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR 30 days from the last occurrence
Technical log: service operation events (going live, viewer connection, picture-quality change, image-server call results), broadcast number, technical connection parameters (resolution, frame count, bitrate, data loss, latency, route type), browser and OS name and version, and a hash distinguishing individuals, changed daily; without an IP address and without an account identifier Detecting and fixing broadcast operation problems Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR 14 days
Viewer reactions on a broadcast: viewer identifier, reaction type, cryptographic network hash Reaction counters, broadcaster ranking Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR 12 months
Aggregate broadcaster account statistics: number of broadcasts, number of stops following reports, total view and reaction counts, without dates and without viewer data Broadcaster reputation and ranking, covering their entire history Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR Until the account is deleted
Breach reports and broadcaster blocks: reporter identifier, broadcast number, time, and the reporter's cryptographic network hash Moderation, preventing repeated breaches, distinguishing reports coming from different people Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR 12 months
Video frames submitted for automated analysis (a single frame every few seconds of broadcast, more often after a viewer report) and the analysis result: broadcast number, time, recognised content categories, and confidence of recognition Detecting forbidden content, checking moderation accuracy Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest: user safety, including the protection of minors A frame assessed with no findings is not retained. Assessment result: 90 days. A frame with detected forbidden content: 90 days; a frame passed on for review by an administrator: 14 days. Access is restricted to administrators only.

We do not store the IP address of the person filing a report. The database holds only a keyed hash that lets us tell that two reports came from the same network, and that cannot be used to reconstruct the address. It serves one purpose: preventing one person from stopping someone else's broadcast by posing as two different people. For IPv6 addresses, the hash covers the network prefix, not the full address.

4. Cookies

  1. We use only cookies that are necessary for the service to work: the guest identifier and the logged-in session cookie.
  2. We do not use advertising, tracking, or profiling cookies. We do not use third-party analytics tools.
  3. Traffic statistics run on our own server and do not create any additional files on the user's side.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell data and do not share it for marketing purposes.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access your data, rectify it, erase it, restrict its processing, transfer it, and object to processing based on our legitimate interest. Requests are handled at the contact address in point 1.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commission, the UK supervisory authority: 4th Floor, No. 3 Circle Square, 5 Hawkshaw Street, Manchester M1 7BL, United Kingdom.

Practical note: broadcasting without an account relies on an identifier stored in a cookie. If you delete it, we have no way to link your request to earlier activity. This is not an attempt to avoid our obligations - it follows from the fact that we deliberately do not collect data that would let us identify an anonymous broadcaster.

7. Automated decisions

Stopping a broadcast following reports, or following a negative result of the image analysis, happens automatically. It does not produce legal effects and does not similarly significantly affect the user's situation: it concerns only access to a free feature of the service. Any such decision can be contested by writing to the contact address.

8. Children

The service is not intended for people under 18 years of age and we do not knowingly collect their data. If we learn that an account or a broadcast belongs to a minor, we delete the data and block access.

9. Changes to this policy

A new version is marked with a number and a date, and we announce significant changes on the home page.
